Two Men and a Kilt
This is what happens when two pals who've played music together for 15 years strike out and do it with a new name, music we like, and the idea that if we're having a good time, that sort of thing spreads. With bagpipes, guitar and 16th-century Lute, and a few other auxilliary effects, we sing songs and play tunes that get your feet moving and your mouth shouting.
For me, it all starts in Scotland. First there were the Picts, then the Dal Riata, then the Scots. Then there was whisky and salmon and haggis. All at once there were a people.
This could describe the history of Scotland or a typical monthly dinner meeting of the Scottish Society of Indianapolis, or Sunday luncheon at the Lawson household.
Either way, it probably going to be a good time - especially when there's music involved.
Music by "Two Men and a Kilt" celebrates the art that came before and its influence on what is now.
The Gaelic lands, Scotland, Wales, Ireland, and the isles have given the world multiple rich musical traditions. The songs range from exquisite melodies to imaginative tales of spiritual/fae realms to bawdy tavern tunes. I play the full gambit! Oh, and when there's "Shouty bits," that's your part!
